PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject drafting unit designed so as to allow a pair of left and right support members supporting bottom rollers to slide to a proper position with a simple device and enable the support members to be fixed onto a roller stand by a relevant means provided at a position lying apart from the support members. SOLUTION: This drafting unit for a spinning machine has such a scheme that second rods 22L, 22R and third rods 23L, 23R are fixed onto second slides 19L, 19R and third slides 20L, 20R supporting bottom rollers 7b, 7c, respectively; the respective slides are fixed onto a roller stand via the respective rods through tightening the bolts 32 of stop brackets mounted on respective fixing guide members 21L, 21R; racks 33L, 33R are provided on the second rods 22L, 22R, respectively, which, in turn, are simultaneously moved by the revolution of an adjusting shaft 35 furnished with pinions 36L, 36R respectively engaged on the racks 33L, 33R; and the third slides, together with the second slides, lie mobile toward the upstream side.
