PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail cleaning device applicable to passenger conveyors of various sorts and allowing effective cleaning of moving handrails. SOLUTION: A wiping means 10 is composed of a supporting part 12 extending from the floor of an over-story get-on/getoff place 2 with possibility of expansion and contraction, a receiving part 17 provided over the part 12 rotatably, and a removing part 18 provided over the receiving part 17 and having projections 21 at two points. According to this configuration, it is possible to manage with different heights of the moving handrail 5 by expansion and contraction of the supporting part 12, with different inclining angles of the handrail 5 by rotation of the receiving part 17, and with different bending radii of the handrail 5 as the projections 21 abut at two points.
