PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system that forms a speech path between a slave terminal and an external communication terminal upon the receipt of a call from the slave terminal in a transfer mode and that prevents a busy tone from the telephone network from being transmitted to the slave terminal when a speech is finished and the communication terminal hooks on. SOLUTION: The interphone system is provided with the slave terminal 1 having a speech means 11 and a call means 12, a master terminal 2 that has a speech means 22 and is connected to the slave terminal, and a transfer means 5 that is connected to the master terminal and automatically makes a call to the external communication terminal 7 via a telephone network 6. The transfer means has a configuration such that it automatically makes a call to the communication terminal when receiving a call from the slave terminal in a transfer mode to form a speech path between the slave terminal and the communication terminal, and interrupts the connection to the slave terminal so as to prevent a busy tone from reaching the slave terminal when a speech end detection means detects the termination operation by the communication terminal.
