PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain watertightness and airtightness only by clamping the housing of a closure for optical cable, which has rectangular end surfaces, with a belt. SOLUTION: When an optical cable storage part is formed by arranging the opening of the reverse surface part of an upper housing 10 and the opening of the top surface of a lower housing 12 opposite to each other and combining the upper and lower housing together, housing ends 16 and 20 positioned at both ends of this optical fiber storage part are provided with hulls 16b and 20b formed at their peripheral edge parts integrally with the housing end parts and lead-in hole frames 16c and 20c formed at the edge of an optical cable lead-in hole integrally with the housing ends and further provided with at least two press ribs 16d and 20d which are formed integrally with the housing ends connecting the hulls and lead-in hole frames and diagonal beams 16e and 20e formed between the press ribs integrally with the housing ends.
