PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quench-cooling device of a solid or a hollow shaft-like member, on which what is called, a barber's mark is not developed even when the quenching at high speed feeding is used. SOLUTION: This quench-cooling device is provided with a fixed liquid vessel part 20 having a hollow box part 25 and a nozzle cylindrical part 10 provided with plural spraying nozzles 11a for spraying the cooling liquid against the outer periphery of a work W, and the nozzle cylindrical part 10 is rotated in the reverse direction to the rotating direction of the work W and the cooing liquid supplied into the hollow box part 25 is sprayed to the outer periphery of the fed work W to cool it.
