PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which is constituted so that the installing area is not enlarged and the rigidity of a frame can be enhanced and which can be easily handled. SOLUTION: This microscope is provided with the frame 2 obtained by integrally forming a base part 2a and an arm part 2b extended in a horizontal direction along the upper part of the base part 2a, a microscope main body 20 at the tip part of the arm part 2b and a stage 6 on which a sample 7 is placed and whose prescribed range can be moved at the base part 2a side. Then, an auxiliary arm 18 curved so that it does not interfere with the moving range of the stage 6 is arranged between the tip part of the base part 2a and that of the arm part 2b.
