PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more correctly transfer papers thereby improving a recording quality by correcting a deviation in transfer amount in a vertical direction of the papers at a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: An execution number of corrections corresponding to a recording mode is obtained beforehand by testing a printer. When printing is carried out, the execution number of corrections corresponding to a recording mode is selected (step S11). When the printing is started, a cumulative number NA of transfers from a use start of the printer is read out and counted (steps S12 and S13). After the printing is executed in a horizontal direction (step S14), the NA is compared with the execution number of corrections. When the NA is equal to the execution number, transfer is carried out in a vertical direction by a transfer amount (α'+ε) obtained by adding a correction amountεto a normal transfer amountα' of one time (step S17). When the NA is not equal to the execution number, transfer by the transfer amountα' is carried out in the vertical direction (step S16). A printing process is advanced in this manner.
