PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for silver halide photographic sensitive material by which the environment in processing is improved, the stain of the sensitive material and the formation of fur or silver sludge in a washing or stabilizing bath is prevented and superior dryability is ensured. SOLUTION: When a silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one photosensitive silver halide photographic emulsion layer on the substrate is developed, fixed, stabilized and dried with an automatic processing machine having a developing tank, a fixing tank, a stabilizing tank and a drying part, a stabilizing solution not substantially containing aldehydes is used, the stabilizing tank is divided into two or more tanks and heat drum drying is carried out.
