<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently and immediately expand an air bag even in a narrow clearance between the lower part of a steering column and an occupant. SOLUTION: This air bag 14 comprises an outer bag 24 and an inner bag 26, and outflow openings 30, 32 are formed in the upper and lower sides of the inner bag 26. These outflow openings 30, 32 are positioned nearer to an occupant side than the surface of a steering wheel 20. The opening area of the outflow opening 32 is larger than the outflow opening 30, therefore, a larger amount of gas in the inside of the inner bag 26 is led to flow out from the outflow opening 32 toward a lower direction. As a result, the outer bag 24 is expanded rapidly toward the lower side more than the upper side, and the outer bag 24 can be quickly entered even in a narrow clearance between the lower end of the steering wheel 20 and an occupant.</p> |
