PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the overshoot of revolving speed in the starting process of an internal-combustion engine. SOLUTION: A controlling method and device for the revolving speed of a drive unit include a control means which adjusts the ignition angle of an internal-combustion engine as a function of deviation of the actual revolving speed from its target value. The control device has at least one variable parameter, which takes a value at starting different from the value during the normal control operation.
