PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production apparatus for a rare-earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide phosphor wherewith evacuation can be done without scattering a phosphor mixture and a phosphor can be produced in a stable baking atmosphere. SOLUTION: An apparatus which has a baking oven and an evacuating means, the oven being evacuated by the evacuating means and a phosphor material mixture being baked in the oven to produce a rare-earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide phosphor, wherein the evacuating means is composed at least of a vacuum pump and an air-exhausting pipe connecting the vacuum pump to the oven and comprises a low-capacity evacuating means which evacuates the inside of the oven at a low evacuating capability until the inside of the oven reaches a certain degree of vacuum and a high-capability evacuating means which evacuates the inside at a high evacuating capability after the evacuation with the low-capability evacuating means. |
