PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of informing of the more appropriate exchanging time of a process cartridge and preventing the deterioration of image quality by constituting the device so that an exchanging time decision means judges the exchanging time of the process cartridge based on the detected results from plural detection means and informs of the judged result. SOLUTION: The exchanging time decision means judges the exchanging time of the process cartridge based on the detected results from plural detection means and informs of the judged result. In this device, when an image forming instruction is issued, the exchanging time decision means detects and judges the life of a photoreceptor drum 1 by using a life detection means 20 detecting information related to the life of the drum 1. When AC voltage applying time attains a specified time in the judgement by the means 20, a control part 17 controls to display that now is the time when the process cartridge 8 should be exchanged on a display 18. When it does not attain the specified time, the remaining amount of the developer 4 in a developer storage part 5 is continuously detected and judged. |
