PURPOSE: A printed circuit board conveyor of the surface mounter is provided to improve the position control for mounting the devices on the printed circuit board and to allow the mounting operation at arbitrary position and to compensate the position error. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for conveying the printed circuit board conveyor in the surface mounter comprises a frame(10), an X-Y gantry(18) installed on the frame, a base(12) placed within the X-Y gantry, a detector(20), a printed circuit board conveyor(32) movable on the base, and at least of picking head units(30). The detector installed on Y-axis gantry detects the position and orientation of printed circuit board(1) conveyed from the tray and controls the conveying distance based on the measured data. A plurality of free movable picking head units installed on the X-axis gantry permit the mounting operation at arbitrary positions. By using the detector and picking head units, position error is compensated. |
