摘要 PURPOSE: The method for controlling the power of an RF module for the random access of an ATM terminal is provided to obtain the effect of on/off by turning on the power of an RF transmitting unit before starting ransom access procedures and by adjusting the input value of a variable gain amplifier in the execution of ransom access procedures, in case that an origination or destination call is requested. CONSTITUTION: A terminal station inputs an input value(CPWR0) corresponding to a possible minimum sending power to a variable gain amplifier in an RF module through a modem(S1). The terminal station turns on the DC power sending part of an RF transmitting unit(S2) and inputs input values(CPWR1,CPWR2,CPWR3) corresponding to processing sending power to the variable gain amplifier through the modem(S3). The terminal station sends a random access message at a speed of 100msec(S4) and inputs the input value(CPWR0) to the variable gain amplifier through the modem(S5). Accordingly, a timer is driven(S6). The terminal station confirms whether a channel assignment confirmation message is received from a base station before the timer is released(S7). If the channel assignment confirmation message is received, the terminal station executes the setup procedures for the next call(S9). In case that the terminal station failed to receive the channel assignment confirmation message from the base station, the terminal station executes the above procedures two times more until the message is received. After releasing the call connection, the terminal station turns off the DC power sending part(S10).
