BONE SPLINT

摘要

An elongate bone splint for location within a bone cavity to align two bone pieces has an external surface configuration such that its two opposite end portions can be inserted in opposite directions into the cavities within respective bone pieces, but resist being pulled out of the said cavities. Each of the opposite end portions has at least one barb formed on it extending substantially continuously around the splint in a ring-like manner, the face of each barb which faces the end of the splint and the bone piece into which the respective end portion is to be inserted being inclined to the axis of the splint to facilitate inward deformation of the barbs as the end portions are inserted into the bone cavities.
