The device comprises a roller (2) carrying a band (3) which includes a plurality of labels (4) which pass along a guide-wedge (5) intended to cause a change of direction in order to detach the label (4). The device is characterized in that there is provided a head (10) which is connected to a suction circuit (12) and to blowing means (13, 15) of which the operation is controlled by a pneumatic distributor (16) which also controls the operation of the suction circuit (12) so that, when the label (4) has been released from the band, the label is sucted and is retained in the head (10) and thereafter the label (4) is blown to impulse the label with strength to the product surface (18) to which the label will be applied as a result of the impulsing action. The head (10) has a multiperforated surface (19) which facilitates the homogeneous impulsing of the label (4).
