CATHODE RAY TUBE, MANUFACTURE THEREOF, COLOR SELECTING MEMBER FOR CATHODE RAY TUBE, AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide a cathode ray tube manufactured without a defect with an existing exposure device having a simple structure, and always providing an excellent display quality, a color selecting member and their manufactures. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor pattern on a phosphor layer 104 is formed as stripes longer in a crosswise direction (horizontal direction) of a screen. Slits 106 of a color selecting member 103 are also formed as shapes longer in the crosswise direction (direction of horizontal scan lines) of the screen. If a thermal expansion of the color selecting member 103 is present or a large deviation between an exposed position in the manufacturing and the irradiated position of an electron beam in the actual use exists, the electron beam can freely pass the slits 106 in that direction. Thus this structure does not have an adverse effect on the irradiation accuracy of the electron beam on the phosphor layer 104.
