PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high luminance light-emission materials which effectively emit light by deformation due to mechanical external forces such as frictional force, shear force, and impact force. SOLUTION: A high luminance stress light-emitting material is a substance composed of at least one aluminate salt having a non-stoichiometric composition and having a lattice defect which emits light when the carrier having been excited by a mechanical energy returns to the ground state or a substance containing a rare earth metallic ion or a transition metallic ion as the center ion of the luminescence center in this host substance.
