PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fault of a sewing machine motor even when the plural times of sewing machine activation are executed in a short time in the state of not clearing a motor lock factor. SOLUTION: In this controller of the sewing machine motor, a motor rotation speed detection means 16 detects the rotation speed of the sewing machine motor 2 for driving the main shaft of a sewing machine and a CPU 13 detects whether or not the sewing machine motor 2 is in a lock state based on the rotation speed detection signals of the sewing machine motor detected by the motor rotation speed detection means 16. Then, the CPU 13 stops the sewing machine motor 2 based on the detected result and also inhibits the drive of the sewing machine motor 2 for a prescribed time after a prescribed number of sewing machine motor lock are detected.
