PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency converter which does not use a memory for delaying data and can avoid take-over of an address by the use only of a main memory. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a comparison means 4 which is equipped with a memory 1 having a specified memory area and a buffer area, compares a writing address signal 8 with a reading address signal 11 and puts up flags 12 and 13 when it is detected as a result of comparison that one of the address signals almost passes the other, and an address control means 5 which changes a range of a writing/reading address signal to a memory 1 in response to the flags. It is possible to have passing of an address avoided without using a memory exclusively used for take-over prevention by extending the address range to the buffer area and performing address specification at the time of flag generation.
