The hydraulic cylinder has two medium connections (17,18) in the cylinder base (5) opposite to a sealing unit (7). The closure valves (10,11) are fully integrated in the cylinder base. The sliding axis of the closure parts (12) of the valves are positioned co-axial or parallel to the longitudinal axis (13) of the cylinder. The cylinder has two or more hydraulic telescopic stages, and each stage has a piston on its end facing the cylinder base. All pressure lines (19,20,21,23) between the connections, the pressure chambers (8,9) next to the piston (2), and the valves, are fully integrated in the hydraulic cylinder.
