PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a fan and breakdown of a motor due to the frost adhering to the fan of a cooling unit to avoid influences exerted on the food commodities in a storage room, and to improve operating properties at the time of inspection work. SOLUTION: This cooling device is provided with a fan casing 4, a cooler which is stored in this fan casing 4, a fan 8 which ventilates this cooler, a fan guard 13 for protecting this fan 8, and a heater 10 for defrosting the fan 8 in a heat insulating box body. In this case, the heater 10 is fixed by defrosting heater-fixing members 19, 19 that are provided at the fan casing 4, and the heater 10 is positioned between the fan 8 and the fan guard 13.
