PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission path of excellent transmission characteristic reduced in a waveform distortion and a bending loss caused by nonlinear phenomenon and dispersion, and to provide a dispersion shift optical fiber. SOLUTION: An outer circumferential side of a center core 1 is covered by the first sidecore 2, the second sidecore 3 and a clad 5 in this order,Δ1>Δ3>Δ2 is made to be satisfied when respective specific refractive index differences of the center core 1, the first sidecore 2 and the second sidecore 3 with respect to the clad 5 are expressed byΔ1,Δ2,Δ3, 0.75%<=Δ1<=1.0%, -0.3%<=Δ2<=-0.2%, 0.4%<=Δ3<=0.6% are made to be satisfied, the center core 1 is formed intoα-th power profile having 2.3-3 ofαconstant, and respective radii of the center core 1, and the first sidecore 2 and the second sidecore 3 are made to be 2.5-7μm, 5.5-9μm, and 8.5-10μm, so as to form this dispersion shift optical fiber of a low dispersion slope and a low bending loss having 75μm2 or more of an effective core cross-sectional area in 1.55μm of wavelength. An optical transmission path is formed using the optical fiber. |
