PURPOSE: A method for improving handoff in optical repeater is provided to make the handoff normally performed by the reference of system information though a terminal is moved, so as to eliminate a failure of the handoff due to the delay of an optical line. CONSTITUTION: A receiving power level notified to a corresponding base station from a terminal is checked(S310). A mobile switching center decides whether to perform handoff by referring to the receiving power level of the terminal included in a pilot strength measurement message(S320). A channel for handoff of a target base station is allocated(S330). A new handoff parameter value is transmitted to the corresponding terminal(S340). In the step of the S340, search window system information of a base station in initial call setup of the terminal is compared with search window system information of a base station for a handoff object, to decide search window system information having a higher value. The decided search window system information is transmitted to the terminal as a handoff parameter value. Reference point system information of the base station changed by the generation of handoff is transmitted to the terminal, to perform a handoff operation of the terminal by referring to the transmitted system information. Handoff is instructed to the terminal(S350). And a normal handoff operation is performed(S360). |
