<p>An optical information recording medium having first and second information layers is provided with an area where only the first information layer near the substrate is provided. Initialization is started from the area by using a laser beam. For an area where the second information layer is formed, after the second information layer is initialized, the first information layer is initialized. Alternatively, the first and second information layers are both initialized simultaneously with a flash of light the flash time and flash energy of which are controlled. By applying such a flash a plurality of times, the second information layer is initialized, and then the first information layer is initialized.</p> |
