A device to generate diffuse colored light has a lighting device (10) emitting at least one diffuse white light. At least one light guidance channel is provided for the white light. In the light guidance channel is located at least one light filter element that has a primary color of the subtractive color mix. In the light guidance channel is located at least one light filter element of each of the three primary colors of the subtractive color mix, magenta, cyan and yellow. Each light filter element is located in the light guidance channel so that it overlaps the cross-section of the channel only partially.
