PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-traveling parking apparatus in which an unoccupied parking space can be found in a short traveling distance, hence, a time required for driving-in and out can be curtailed and a ascending carriage way can be separated from a descending carriage way to form them respective one-way traffic lanes and a superfluous apparatus is not required at the outside of the parking building and hence, a useless space is eliminated and the space efficiency of the parking lot can be enhanced, and a vehicle in the ascending carriage way can transfer soon to the descending carriage way in a short driving when it drives in or out. SOLUTION: Substantially rectangular carriage ways are provided in a building. The parking apparatus is provided with an inclined drive-in carriage way 12 which can get higher by two floors in one round of driving, an inclined drive-out carriage way 14 which is positioned to shift the height to the same plane position with the inclined drive-in carriage way 12 and can get lower by two floors in one round of driving, a plurality of bypass carriage ways 16 directly connected to the inclined drive-in carriage way 12 and the inclined drive-out carriage way 14 in a plurality of levels. Parking spaces 18 are defined along the inclined drive-in carrage way 12 and the inclined drive-out carriage way 14.
