PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the connecting member of a member from generating cracks, etc., caused by the lapse of time by reducing a residual stress by press forming. SOLUTION: In the connecting member 10 of a member connecting a second member 4 from the crossing direction to the side face of a first member 2 constituting the frame of a vehicle, the tip part of a second member is restricted from the lower side and both sides by a U-part whose cross-section has been formed in a U-shape. The connecting member of this member has a U-shaped plate 13 by which a flange part bent from respective side plates of the U-part is connected to the side face of the first member and a supporting plate 15 connected to the bottom surface of the first member and connected to the bottom surface of the U-shaped forming plate 13 and supports the U-shaped forming plate 13. Thereby, the shapes of the U-shaped forming plate 13 and the supporting plate 15 which constitute the connecting member 10, become simple ones which do not include a corner part, etc.
