A joint locking system (3) for shelving of the type comprising a plurality of elongated vertical members (1) and a plurality of load supporting flat members (2) is provided, characterised in that it comprises first locking means (4, 5) of said plurality of flat support members (2) on said plurality of vertical members (1) and second locking and anti-release means (42, 44, 52, 54, 55) for the locking of said plurality of flat members (2) on said plurality of vertical members (1); the arrangement being such that, subsequently to the engagement of the first locking means (4, 5) of said plurality of flat members (2) onto said plurality of vertical members (1) the engagement of the second locking means (42, 44, 52, 54) is realised.
