PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress resonance of the color discriminating mechanism of a color cathode-ray tube caused by external vibration and sound. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube is provided with a color discriminating mechanism 251 stretched with a color discriminating electrode thin plate 40 arranged with many band-like grid elements 37 on a frame 35. The color discriminating mechanism 251 is stretched with the color discriminating electrode thin plate 40 on the frame 35 having a resonance frequency different from the resonance frequency of the band-like grid elements 37 near the center of a screen.
