MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics by improving the surface smoothness of a magnetic layer of <=1.0μm in thickness without the occurrence of pinholes and coating application stripes. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium is constituted by disposing an intermediate layer containing carbon black and nonmagnetic particulates exclusive of thereof on a nonmagnetic base and further, disposing the magnetic layer of <=1.0μm thickness on this intermediate layer and confining the thickness over the entire part including the nonmagnetic base, the intermediate layer and the magnetic layer to <=13μm. The surface degree of the magnetic layer is <=10 dB in the difference between the intensity at 102 mm-1 and the intensity at 205 mm-1 in frequency analysis of the non-contact surface degree.
