PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a power supply unit at a proper timing by detecting the service life of the power supply unit. SOLUTION: Rise and fall of the input current of a capacitor 4 for smoothing are detected to compute continuity angle. The computed continuity angle is compared with the reference value corrected by the output current, peak-to-peak input voltage, and temperature of the capacitor 4, and if it exceeds the reference value, a LED 20 notify of the end of the serice life of the capacitor 4.
