Water-soluble N,N'-bis(s-triazinylamino-sulpho-phenyl-perylenetetracarbodiimide dyes (I) of formula (A) are new; in which R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4> = A-X-COOM or A-X-SO3M; or R<3>, R<4> = OR<5> or NR<6>R<7>; A = NR<8> or sulphur (S); X = an optionally hydroxy-, carboxy- or amino-substituted alkylene or arylene group; R<5>, R<6>, R<7> = hydrogen (H) or a 1-4 carbon (C) alkyl group, optionally mono- or poly-substituted by hydroxy (OH), 2-hydroxyethoxy, 1-4 C alkoxy or amino; R<8> = H, methyl or ethyl; M = a monovalent cation or one equivalent of a polyvalent cation. Also claimed are inks and liquid formulations for bulk colouration of paper, which contain (I).
