The device (10) has a tube (11), which can be accommodated in a valve annulus (18) of a heart or blood vessel (17) and has bottom (12) and top (13) flanges extending in its peripheral direction. The flanges have a position in which they extend out from the tube to accommodate the annulus between them to fix the device. The bottom flange is bent to, or can be bent, reversibly against a resilient force, from one position to a second in which the bottom flange projection on a radial transverse tube surface is located on and within the tube periphery. The bottom flange can be fixed in the second position such that the fixing can be released in order to bend back the bottom flange towards the first position under the influence of the resilient force.
