PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain facsimile equipment that appropriately prevents errors of call out to a wrong destination. SOLUTION: In the case an operational port starts destination input while ringing start time set and inputted from the operational port is stored in a RAM, facsimile equipment clocks ringing start time by a timer operation and starts an operation tone ringing operation, when a timer overflows. When a destination input operation is finished or the cancel operation of an inputted destination telephone number is performed, the facsimile equipment decides that a destination input operation state is released, clears the timer, stops operation tone ringing and finishes processing (steps S101 to S104). Thus, it is possible to appropriately prevent an wrong call out by outputting sound during the entire period, in which destination input is performed so as not to be troubled by noise and making an operator and people around to appropriately understand that the destination input remains, even when destination input is stopped halfway.
