PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrasonic motor which is manufactured without labor, whose performance degradation can be prevented and whose polarization does not require a high voltage. SOLUTION: The stator of this ultrasonic motor is constituted, in such a way that semicylindrical elastic bodies are installed on both faces of two laminated sheet-like piezoelectric elements. On the surface of the first piezoelectric element 21, electrodes 41 are divided and formed into 'a cross inside a square' shapes, and their polarization states are alternate. Likewise, on the rear of the second piezoelectric element 22, electrodes 42 are divided and formed into 'a cross inside a square' shapes, and their polarization direction is opposite to the polarization direction of the first opposite piezoelectric element 21. An electrode 43 which is formed on the rear of the first piezoelectric element 21 and an electrode 44 which is formed on the surface of the second piezoelectric element 22 are grounded. In addition, a metal plate 5 is interposed between the first piezoelectric element 21 and the second piezoelectric element 22, and the electrodes 43, 44 are led out to the outside. When a frequency voltage is applied to the piezoelectric elements 21, 22, end edges in the longitudinal direction are bent and vibrated in mutually opposite directions, their bending vibration is transmitted to the elastic bodies, and torsional vibration is generated in the stator. |
