DCT/IDCT PROCESSOR

PURPOSE: A DCT/IDCT(Discrete Cosine Transform/Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform) processor is provided to be capable of perform fast and effective DCT and IDCT, and of realizing the DCT and IDCT using one ASIC. CONSTITUTION: A prescaler(41) receives IDCT coefficients or data to performs a prescaling. A MUX(42) induces IDCT correlation coefficients or DCT correlation coefficients prescaled in the prescaler(41) to a matrix multiplier(43), which multiplies a DCT correlation coefficient matrix or an IDCT correlation coefficient matrix to the respective lows of an IDCT correlation coefficient matrix or a DCT correlation coefficient matrix. A standardizing and raising mean(44) gives a suitable bit accuracy to an intermediate output matrix output from the matrix multiplier(43). A buffer(45) presets the intermediate output matrix to input the matrix to the MUX(42). A final standardizing and raising mean(46) gives a suitable bit accuracy to a final output matrix output from the matrix multiplier(43). A block buffer(47) buffers the data input from the final standardizing and raising mean(46) to output DCT coefficients or IDCT coefficients.
