PURPOSE: A communication device using an HDLC(High Level Data Link Control) protocol between a subscriber control module and subscriber modules in a PBX(Private Branch Exchange) is provided to perform data communication by using the HDLC protocol. Therefore, it is possible to transmit data at a high speed, and to perform an error correction while transceiving the data. Also, entire load of the subscriber control module can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber control module(100) mounts an HDLC(High Level Data Link Control) controller, and controls many subscriber modules(431-44n). The subscriber modules(431-44n) mounts an HDLC controller connected with the HDLC controller of the subscriber control module(100), and are controlled by the subscriber control module(100). A transmission line transmits data to the subscriber modules(431-44n) through an HDLC port of the subscriber control module(100). A receiving line receives the data from the subscriber modules(431-44n) through the HDLC port of the subscriber control module(100).
