PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth retaining auxiliary device capable of carrying out earth retaining work for plant growing farming land or the like provided in an installation slope for growing plants on the installation slope of a roof floor slope of a building and reducing a construction cost for carrying out earth retaining work. SOLUTION: An earth retaining auxiliary device 1 is installed at a part between concrete walls 6 and 11 on an installation slope 5 and is buried in farming land 4. Planters 2 of the earth retaining auxiliary device 1 buried in the farming land 4 are held in a boundary part between an upper slope 5a and a lower slope 5b by a holder 3 interlocked with the installation slope 5, and the flow of the farming land 4a spread on the upper slope 5a of the installation slope 5 is checked to make earth retaining. By such the earth retaining, the flow of the farming land 4a to the lower slope 5b of the installation slope 5 and the inclination thereof can be prevented and, at the same time, it is not necessary to increase the number of concrete walls by narrowing an interval between the concrete walls erected on the installation slope 5 to reduce a construction cost for carrying out earth retaining work.
