PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sheet comprising a polyphenylene ether resin compsn. not generating a crack at the time of taking-over in a manufacturing process, a crack at the time of bending processing of a molded object or warpage at the time of heating. SOLUTION: A polyphenylene ether resin compsn. is kneaded, melted and extruded by using an extruder to be formed into a sheet-like article and this sheet-like article is pressed, cooled and solidified by a pair of cooling rolls consisting of first and second rolls to produce a sheet with a thickness of 0.1-5.0 mm. In this method, the temp. of the second roll is set to [thermal deformation temp. ( deg.C) of polyphenylene ether resin compsn. -20] deg.C or higher.
