PURPOSE: A secondary battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the structure parts numerically and to shorten the process of manufacturing and to make the process thereof easily by introducing a new method of composing and manufacturing the battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery includes an electrode roll(2), two taps(2a,2b), a holding tool(22), a case(40) and a lid(42). An electrode roll(2) is made by inserting a separator between two taps(2a,2b) is soaked in an electrolyte and is fixed by using the holding tool and is put in the case, a side of which is opened. In the state of exposing the taps projected from the electrodes, the lid is closed and the frame has the process of the double sealing, so that the security device for preventing the explosion accident by the sealing pressure is also made. Because the former structure parts of the cap assembly are unnecessary, the parts are reduced numerically.
