<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aramid having a good compatibility with other polymers and an excellent copolymerizability with vinyl and epoxy curable groups by forming a curable aramid having a curable unsaturated double bonding at its structural terminal and containing a phenolic hydroxyl group in the structure. SOLUTION: This is a hydroxyl group-containing curable aramid having hydroxyl group s of formula I having a curable unsaturated double bonding at its structural terminal such as an acrylic group, a vinyl group and the like at its structural terminal and phenolic hydroxyl groups in the structure. An example is an aramid of formula II to which at least one (meth)acrylic group is introduced. A polymerizable composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of this curable aramid, 0.01-20 pts.wt. of a polymerization initiator, optionally, a pigment, a bleaching inhibitor, a surfactant, an antioxidant, a solvent and the like. In the formulas, R1 is a bivalent aromatic group at least 1 mol of which contains a phenolic hydroxyl group; X is a (meth)acrylic group, a group of formula III oR H, at least 50% of which is (meth)acrylic group; R1 is a bivalent aromatic group; and Y is hydrogen or the like.</p> |
