A method for manufacturing a foundation (1, 2) and a floor (3) of a building. The method is of the kind in which the foundation and the floor are cast of a casting material, such as concrete, and insulated by a solid insulating material (5), such as cellular plastic. The method comprises manufacturing a form of the solid insulating material (5), said form comprising a form section (16) having a body (19) and a first and second leg (20, 21). On the base sheet (6) on which the building is to rest is placed a prop (28) along the exterior of the future foundation, said prop is by means of e.g. iron spears anchored to the base sheet (6), and the form section (16) is placed on the base sheet (6), its first leg (20) abutting against the inside of the prop (28). The upper region of the two legs (20, 21) of the form section (16) are connected to each other by means of toothed plate connectors (26), after which the space (24) between the two legs (20, 21) of the form section (16) is filled with casting material. The form section (1, 2) is left as insulation of the foundation (1, 2) or an outer part (1) thereof.
