<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily displace and move a body auxiliary device by detecting the line of sight direction of a user and controlling the device to be displaced toward the detected the line of sight direction in a system for controlling the body auxiliary device such as an artificial hand or a wheelchair to compensate the physical action of a disabled person by means of the line of sight input. SOLUTION: When the system is executed for an artificial hand user 2, a display device 3 is fitted to his her head. The display device 3 is constituted of a pair of left and right display equipment 5 emitting an image display light L and a combiner 6 for changing an optical path to guide the display light to the eyes of the user 2 and for transmitting a light from the visual field area of the user 2. Besides, the device 3 is provided with the line of sight detecting mechanism 10 for detecting the line of sight direction of the user 2 and imaging devices 21 and 22 consisting of two CCD cameras for detecting a distance and direction to a viewpoint in his or her visual field area. Then the distance and the direction from the tip of the artificial hand to the user 2 are calculated based on the line of sight detecting signal and a servo-motor of the artificial hand is controlled.</p> |
