PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily view the display of a channel state in the case of automatic searching. SOLUTION: When a user operates an automatic search key 19a of a key operation section 19 in this television receiver, a control section 20 searches channels from the channel 1 up to the channel 62 and a CRT 17 displays all cannel information in terms of OSD via a synthesizer 16. The CRT 17 displays the information in a way that the user can identify the state of the channels such that all the channels 1-62 are displayed simultaneously, channels under selection are displayed in yellow, a channel whose broadcast signal is received during the channel selection is displayed in white, and preset channels are surrounded with a circle. Thus, the user can grasp the state of all the channels at a glance.
