PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to accomplish an improved ride comfort while preventing an abnormal operation of a safety gear caused by an abnormal acceleration/deceleration of elevator. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a sensor(41) for sensing an inertial force of a speed controller(9), a signal line(42) for transmitting an output from the sensor, and a control board(43) for receiving information from the sensor through the signal line, calculating an inertial force of the speed controller in acceleration/deceleration, and controlling a current of an elevator driving unit to maintain a normal acceleration/deceleration if the calculated inertial force exceeds a normal acceleration/deceleration.
