PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering handle device for an outboard motor, capable of surly locking a shift lever when a throttle grip is widely opened, preventing the erroneous operation of the shift lever and reducing costs by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A steering handle device is provided with a throttle shaft 20 inserted into a handle housing 11, a shift lever 30 supported by the handle housing 11, and a rotary member 31 housed in the handle housing 11 and rotated associatively with the shift lever axially in a direction crossing the throttle shaft 20. A projected portion is integrally formed in the rotary member 31 so as to be protruded toward the throttle shaft 20, a stopper 62 bulged outward toward its diameter direction is fixed to the throttle shaft, and this stopper is provided with an engaging portion 63 caused to advance to a position crossing a rotational locus drawn by the projected portion during the rotation of the rotary member as long as a throttle grip is rotated not to a full-closed position but to an open direction. |
