PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the moisture generated from a human body during lying in bed by attaching a hygroscopic and moisture releasable fiber layer to the surface on one side of mattress base material consisting of a soft polyurethane foam as a surface on the side where the human body lies in bed. SOLUTION: A mattress base material consists of the soft polyurethane foam 1 which is a polyether type polyurethane foam having, for example, an apparent density of 20 kg/m3, hardness of 11.5 kgf, elongation rate of 130%, and tensile strength of 0.7 kg/m2 or a high-hardness and high-elasticity polyether type polyurethane foam having a apparent density of 21 kg/m3, hardness of 18 kgf, elongation rate of 100%, and tensile strength of 0.9 kg/m2. The use of the base materials having >=2 kinds of characteristics by lamination is also possible. The hygroscopic and moisture releasable fiber layer is pressed to the side in contact with the human body and the hygroscopic and moisture releasable fibers include the synthetic fibers, such as the fibers formed by hydrolyzing the surfaces of crosslinked sodium acrylate fibers and acrylic fibers by post finishing, which are used alone or in combination.
