The cover plate (8) set between the rolling bellows (4) and the shock absorber top (20) has a ring-shaped insert (22) at least partially enclosing the tube of the shock absorber (18). On the outer edge of the insert are openings (26) whereby the volume (12, 14) formed from the insides of the bellows and rolling piston (6) is connected to the volume (32) of the shock absorber top through the openings and through the funnel-shaped restriction (24) of the insert. During the suspension action air now circulates between the two volumes along the shock absorber.
