The air conditioning system for a vehicle interior has a defroster flap (23) as a skimming flap. In the open setting, the major portion of the air flow at the upper end of the air distribution zone (19) is deflected to the defroster outlet (20). A throttle flap (27) is at the side outlet (21) which, at one open end setting, wholly opens out the cross section of the side outlet (21) and only partially opens the cross section when in the closed setting at the other end of its swing movement.
